Anaid Art Gallery is pleased to recommend the solo show by the renowned Romanian artist Alexandru Rădvan titled “The Oldest Day” at ARCUB (Bucharest Cultural Center), Lipscani Street, Nr. 84 – 90, Bucharest, Romania. The opening will take place on Tuesday, 14th of May 2019, starting from 18:00 o’clock, curator Ioana Ciocan, exhibition design arch. Attila Kim. The exhibition can be visited between 14th of May until the 23rd of June 2019.

Conceived as a solo show, “The Oldest Day” by Alexandru Rădvan, spanning 26 (twenty-six) artworks - paintings, sculptures, collages - was created in the last for years.

Born in 1977, in Bucharest, Romania, in the Communist time, Alexandru Rădvan is one of the best-known artists of his generation. He is being known for his big scale figurative paintings and sculpture installations. The artworks oscillate between turmoil and contemplation from the old myths and mythologies.

The new body of works, created especially for this exhibition, features questions regarding the reinterpretations of the ancient myths and mythologies - like Prometheus, The Mother of All Things, Narcis, Sleeping Centaurs, etc. -  in the contemporary era while capturing the full range of human existence.

The artworks by Alexandru Rădvan have been collected by a number of esteemed public and private collections from Germany, Belgium, Greece, Israel, Italy, United Kingdom, United States of America, Romania.
