Our growing online database of contemporary art can be used by art lovers, students, art dealers, museum-goers, patrons, collectors, curators, artists and educators to discover, collect and learn about art. Kooness aims to provide all users with the correct tools to access the vast contemporary art world, in a very simple way.

How it works

Kooness is an online platform that allows you to step into the fine art gallery world by providing virtual access to galleries all over the world. It is a revolutionary way to explore and collect art by buying directly from the finest art galleries. On Kooness you can find the best selection of artworks by both emerging and established artists, accurately selected by our curatorial team. To speed up and simplify the research for your favorite artworks, we introduced a new tool that allows to filter through different categories and tags. Kooness will shake up the art world by attracting new collectors with the use of the most advanced technologies in order to enjoy art even more.

The Team

Our team is composed by young and talented professionals whose aim is to democratize the access to the art world. Following the increasing demand of a new generation of collectors, we strongly believe in the idea of art democratization. With high ambitions, our final aim is to build respectful and trustful relationships with our clients by offering them the best service and total transparency at all times. We believe in the power of cultural, professional and geographic diversity. Our collaborative team features experts with diverse backgrounds, working to build new ways to discover, appreciate and encourage the proliferation of art. We are not a company looking to go global. We were born global.

Lorenzo Uggeri

Founder & CEO

Lorenzo is the founder and CEO of Kooness and was featured among the Forbes 30 Under 30 for the Retail and E-Commerce section. He is a young experienced entrepreneur with a professional background as a business analyst and a strong passion for art collection. By examining the growing opportunities in the online art market, he decided to acquire an in-depth knowledge of contemporary art dynamics at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York. With his strong ambition of democratizing the art world and opening galleries’ doors to a new global audience, Lorenzo implemented Kooness business plan, thus combining his passion for the contemporary art world with the one for online technologies. He earned a BSc in Economics and Management and a master’s degree in Economics and Management of Innovations and Technologies from Bocconi University.

Alice Cavagna

Strategic Partnerships Manager

Alice is head of the Gallery Partnerships Team at Kooness. Her aim is to identify and create high-quality, client-oriented, curated programming for galleries, art fairs and gallery weekends, helping them to reach a wider audience of collectors. Thus generating new opportunities to expand Kooness's presence and brand globally. Over the years, the art market has seen a progressive disruption, shifting towards more digital and innovative business models. Alice has built an extensive knowledge of the digitalization of the art market especially due to her previous work experience at Artsy: a pioneer in the digital art market. She graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Economics and Management in Arts from Bocconi University, Milan and she has benefited greatly from studying and working in diverse international settings such as Sydney, Tel Aviv and London.

Viola Mioni

Gallery Liaison

As Kooness Gallery Liaison, her role is to foster active relationships with the leading galleries, taking care of their needs and helping them to use the platform in the best way. During her academic studies in Economics and Management of Cultural Heritage and Entertainment at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, she developed a great passion for art that led her to work for a year at Sotheby's auction house in the department of modern and contemporary art in Milan. Later she moved to London working at Saatchi and Mazzoleni art galleries where she learned how to responsibly handle confidential information and liaise with senior professionals and high-profile clients.

Rossella Farinotti

Chief Curator

Rossella is the Chief Curator of Kooness and she is a contemporary art critic, curator and writer. She currently works as a contributor for publications and magazines such as “Zero.eu”, “Flash Art Italia”, “Arte”, “Exibart”, “Sofà”, “Pagina99”. Moreover, she is the Executive Coordinator of Gio’ Pomodoro’s archive in Milan and art advisor at Sergio Rossi. Between 2009 and 2011, she also worked as the assistant to the Ministry of Culture of Milan. In 2013, she published Il quadro che visse due volte, a book highlighting the close relationship between art and cinema. During the last years, she curated different exhibitions on young Italian artists. She graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Milan, and further specialized in Communication and Organization of Contemporary Art at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Since 2014, she has been living and working between Milan and Chicago.

Davide Rizzi

SEO Project Manager

Davide Rizzi is the SEO Expert of Kooness and he is responsible for driving organic traffic to the website. Davide is a veteran of creating and managing SEO strategies across multiple industries. Davide’s academic background includes a master’s degree in International Marketing Management and he is also a PMI Agile Certified Practicioner. Davide doesn’t believe in magic, yet he strives to combine data and creativity when crafting a remarkable SEO strategy.

Giulia Cami

Communication & Content coordinator

Giulia is the Communication and Content Coordinator at Kooness. She is in charge of the online magazine and her responsibilities include writing articles, fact-checking and optimizing contributors’ editorials. Her aim is to increase user engagement by proofreading and editing written pieces. Moreover, she manages the social media pages, updating them with daily new content. Giulia graduated from Bocconi University in Milan and from Copenhagen Business School with a Master Double Degree in Art Business, an academic path that allowed her to develop an attentive and precise mindset. Giulia’s prior experiences in working for blue chip galleries provided her with an in-depth knowledge of the contemporary art market and of the managing and artistic complexities concerning such an interesting and dynamic environment.

- Gallery Partnerships Associate

Locations: New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Milan..

Working on the Gallery Partnerships team presents a unique opportunity to build an online resource for the art world. Galleries are a fundamental and strategic asset for reaching Kooness’s business goals and for fostering the exponential growth of the platform.

The Gallery Partnerships Associate will focus on generating new leads and closing new, global- scale partnership agreements.

The ideal candidate is a highly effective and compelling communicator, has experience using Salesforce and working in a sales team environment, and is comfortable managing and analyzing large data sets. Experience in the commercial art world is beneficial and fluency in English, French, Spanish and/or German is a major plus.
