David Wilstermann's spontaneous, playful and confident work - a combination of gestural mark- making, painting and drawing - results in captivating compositions imbued with movement and texture. Though abstract in nature, Wilstermann's work contains recognizable motifs which are often derived from nature, incorporating wispy, whimsical flowers, rays of light, suggestions of rain, rainbows and clouds and perhaps a hint of a horizon in his abstracted works on canvas.
