Oluwafunke Oladimeji born 1988 hails from Oyo. She attended Ekiti State University,( affiliation to Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education), while in school, she registered with the universal studios of Art(USA) National Theater, Iganmu, Lagos for her industrial training as part of her Course Requirement and in 2013 she graduated with a BA( Bachelor of Art ). Her experience at the Universal studios afforded her the opportunity to learn from several masters of art, it broadened her knowledge and understanding of techniques and styles in Painting.

Upon graduation her thirst for knowledge caused her to enroll for a two years internship program at Universal Studios of Art, with the objective of improving her skills. She enjoyed direct Mentorship under Mr Abiodun Olaku a Master Painter while she thrived and developed her painting technique. In the process she found passionate affinity for the unique style and philosophy of her mentor as seen in her early body of works. She is currently a member of the studios having exhibited impressive character and professional traits as an intern.

Over the years her style and technique has evolved with kin interest towards palette knife technique which uses to build visual texture while still retaining her founding philosophy. The urban space holds an attraction for her .The vanishing panorama and the depth of space rendered in hazy atmospheres of the harmattan season or the drawning day is the icing of her works in her various depiction of town and cityscapes and related scenic activities. Oladimeji is also a member of the society of Nigerian artist (SNA) and has participated in some group exhibitions and Auctions.

Artist Statement

My artistic philosophy draws a lot of inspiration from nature. My direct & remote interactions with my environment form the bulk of my stories presently, & guarantees an endless stream to tap from in the future. The amazing millieu of moods generated by the ever-changing atmospheric conditions are too excitingly stimulating to ignore, especially where it also encompasses the activities of mankind.

My art dutifully & faithfully records events for posterity.

For a while now, I have enjoyed painting with acrylics, applying it heavily with palette knives of varying sizes. Apart from the spontaneity & freedom of application that I experience, the resultant texture accentuates the exotic visual sensation that one feels when viewing my work.
