Anne Girault Bardaud

Painter, graduated from ESAG, graphic arts school in Paris in 1996. Member of the collective of artists "Movimento Artistico Epigenetica" which combines art with biological research of cell renewal.

Artist statement:

I paint in matter. I trace, scratch, draw, write, engrave, tear in the mass. I seek the emotion of a relief, a claw, a wound on the skin of the canvas. I express the story of a moment that freezes under the skin. The memory of the gesture that struggles in the dark dough tells of the long and full time of everyday life and the visceral energy of the living. The white veil erases, seeks to blur the stigmata but on the contrary reveals the imperfections bringing to light the relief of an ephemeral existence in the light.

From the deep structure of the dermis to the surface of the ultimate layer of the epidermis revealing its being : its fine lines, its scars, its sutures.  Vibrations of the body, from the encephalogram of thought to the spectrograph of the voice, Life expresses in relief the destiny traversed. The white veil reveals the living dark matter in perpetual motion. The canvas makes visible the visceral and vital energy of the living.
