Curator Gianluca Marziani says:

"Vlad Ogay poses moral dilemmas in a neurotic and depressive present. He uses the archaic language of symbols with a high optical and cultural pervasiveness. He favours materials that are readily available in the consumer circuit beyond the Anthropocene. It exploits immediate and evocative semantic codes, hiding complexity under the skin of aesthetic impact."

Curator Alessio Vigni says:

“Vlad Ogay's installations reveal what his main technique is: the "ready-made." On the objects of everyday life Vlad builds new semantic paths on cultural and gender identities. Sacred symbologies find space on the icons of consumerism and pollution. Sacred and profane come together showing themselves as two sides of the same coin."

Vlad Ogay is a young artist with strong Korean roots. He has graduated from the Staging Department at the Studio School of Moscow Art Theatre and has currently been working as an artist for the theater and film industry. Vlad has been involved in the film projects as an artist, as well as has received prestigious awards in Venice, Berlin and Cannes. His main technique is “ready-made”. Often, to complete an image created from ready-made materials the author adds merely a few details, thus subtly bringing the central idea into focus.
