Nadiaanna Crosignani makes herself an interpreter of women's anxieties and feelings by revealing an experience that is sometimes sensual and sunny and sometimes dramatic, but always emotionally engaging for the viewer. Her women communicate with their bodies, with an attitude, with a posture, never with their gaze because they have no eyes but only a stroke of paint like a slit instead of eyes.
In their case, it is not the eyes that are the mirror of the soul, but the body with its curves and edges that tell of serenity or, on the contrary, inner conflict. The choice not to depict the eyes is an attempt to go beyond looking with the eyes, to see with the senses the feelings the sensations that a woman or a situation suggests. Often seeing with the eyes limits one to a partial view of what one is looking at. Yet the women of NAC look beyond the visual horizon, to perceive what the eyes do not see. Interesting are the style and technique with which the figure is resolved: hinted strokes of minimalist mark making use of contrasting color fields to define the portrayed subject. The artist works with acrylic paints on medium and large canvases in which she often inserts materials such as metal gauze or microspheres to accentuate the effect of three-dimensionality and visual impact.

Born in Milan where she lives and works, she graduated from the Liceo Artistico di Brera. After years in the world of advertising, she has returned to revive her artistic side.
