Working predominantly in metals, Melling creates an eclectic range of sculpture and contemporary furniture. Highly aesthetic in nature, much of his work is curvaceous and tactile, but with a coarseness that is lent from working with bare steel. Both figurative and abstract his style is always in context with its environment. The "Elements Collection" is based on the study of natural elements such as, water, air, fire, earth and their linked phenomena, the reactions derived from their encounter.
