Elian is a contemporary Slovak representative of imaginary visual art. His work includes several techniques
dominated by assemblage, particularly oil painting. In his work, in which stands firmly the dialogue between
the physical world and his personal mental life, he presents visions stemming from the subconscious,
dreams, imaginations and personal experiences. He gives prominence to the power of nostalgia and
melancholy in the study of both the human psyche and spirit in the motifs immersed in a strange, almost
dreamlike atmosphere, full of unusual situations, poetic scenes, stories, as well as bizarre scenes that ignore
the boundaries and laws of rationalism .

He exhibited in the United States, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, his paintings adorn private collections in
several countries in Europe and the USA. He lives and creates in Púchov, where he returned after years from Prague, where he also ran his own
painting studio. In addition to professional artistic activity, he is dedicated to organizing art courses for the public also in his hometown in Slovakia.

“He has a great gift of imagination, to connect reality with fantasy, the real with the unreal. He is not just a
painter vainly soaked in melancholy and nostalgia, who takes his work as a kind of personal psychohygiene
or self-purification. He does not draw the viewer into the action itself on the screen just because of the
unusualness of the depicted motifs. With the psychological, mystical, sometimes even spiritual subtext of his
work and hidden symbols, he creates a space for self-reflection for us as well. He is a painter of stories that
at first glance seem unreal, but upon careful observation, we discover that many of them are intrinsically
related to us, that they are also a part of us, that many times we are also their protagonists, that we are in
them. He puts us in direct dialogue with them. Each of his paintings is a masterpiece in the unity of content
and form with a great expressive value, message and thought. He found himself in the painting approach of
the old masters, and by combining it with his own vision of the world, he creates his original artistic
manuscript.”

Jozef Švikruha, Painter and Art teacher

He is the holder of several awards even in the beginning of his work at regional and national art competitions
competitions, at Art Fest 2016 in České Budějovice, he won first place in the Painting category.
