James Cobb has worked out of his studio in Norman, Oklahoma for the last two decades. Until recently
he maintained a studio in Taos, New Mexico which he sold in 2019. His work is executed in oil when
painting and charcoal and conté when drawing. He attempts to paint from life and hosts a life drawing
session every Friday for artists around the state. Cobb tries to stay true to the subject but is increasingly
adding abstractions to his work. He paints all subject matter from still-life, to landscapes, portraiture,
and figures.
