Mădălina Angelica Dragoș (born august 31,1971) is a Romanian visual artist with the artist name “Madi”.
She started drawing at a young age, growing up in the countryside and later, during school in a small town in southern Romania, with limited options to take visual art courses.
With the passage of time, Madi discovered that she wanted to understand the phenomena of nature and devoted herself to this goal, graduating from the Faculty of Sciences in 1997.
She was a teacher for the longest time working in the educational field as a physics teacher, but a decade ago, her old childhood love for art rekindled and she devoted herself to it graduating in Fine Arts in 2011. She burned all the drawings and paintings made until then, considering them unaesthetic. Apart from the existing works in the faculty archive, there are no other works signed by Madi before this date.
After overcoming her perfectionism that whispered in her ear suggesting to burn all the "defective" pieces, she grew a lot as an artist. Since 2016 she has been working under the name "madi" and, using different techniques, she has created many compositions from still life to portraits that emphasize emotion. Over time, the human portrait in different contexts becomes her main subject to paint or draw.
She is still interested in how the art can change people's lives and continues to be a visual art teacher in non-formal aesthetic education. As any artist would, she strives to win the battle against time and be remembered for her works
Aiming at personal progress as an artist, she participates in various collective exhibitions such as:
