For six weeks only from 1st of July through 10th of August Moscow will host their fifth Biennale for Young Art, commissioned by Ekaterina Kibovskaya. The main project “Deep inside” will be curated by Berlin based curator Nadim Samman, who has a track record of curating biennales, like the Marrakech Biennale in 2012.

The main exhibition will take place in one of Moscow’s oldest textile mills and will feature 87 works by 93 artists. The focus of the exhibition will be on how we tackle recent issues in ecology and economics, furthermore the exhibition will also touch upon the questions regarding new technology and the new dangers that they bring.

The Biennale took place for the first time in 2008 and was created by the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) and the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA) to offer an exhibition space targeting emerging artists. Now it is continuing its mission to gain attention to young artist that embodies the vanguard in the global art community. The list of participants in the “Deep inside” project and the fifth edition of the Biennale consists of a rather bold line up.
