Sedef Gali's work sheds light on different socio-cultural eras and builds a bridge between contrasting cultures, clashing personalities and breaking the rules of the unknown to create what she describes as 'suger-coated chaos'. Gali's main subjects consists of supressed emotions, lust, sexism, geender issues, seelf love, and accumulation of emotions masked and frowned upon by our cultural surroundings and society.
Using a combination of oil on canvas and medium tricks / illusions supported with food dye, nail polish, oil based mediums, alcohol and self made powdered pigments, Gali celebrates the emotional accumulation she has gathered in "lands of the unkown", conveying what we normally suppress both in our heart and in the mind.
Sedef Gali researches different socio-cultural eras, cultural contrasts and emotional layers through social experiences. Her work is a celebration of the suppressed emotions of human beings and how it is sugar coated within society through the use of colors and illusions. Main subjects of her work consist of suppressed emotions, lust, sexism, gender issues, self love, and the chaotic grime of metropolitan cities and society. Gali had multiple exhibitions, live art performances, brand collaborations and pop-up shows between Istanbul and New York including Cemberlitas Basin Museum, Hole Gallery, St Tropez Fine Arts, Contemporary Istanbul and Manhattan Center.

Sedef Gali, artist, designer and creative consultant born in Istanbul, 14 of March 1990. Graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in New York - Brooklyn, leading art and design university in the USA where she studied Interior Design and Painting. Her international academic background is supported with International Baccalaureate Diploma and Art & Design diploma from Central St. Martins in London. She is a multi-faceted artist based in between Istanbul and New York.
Sedef Gali, after growing up in cities with clashing cultures, researches different socio-cultural eras, cultural contrasts and suppressed emotions. Her work is a celebration for the colorful and chaotic grime in metropolitan cities and how it is reflected upon society through the use of colors.
The main technique Gali uses is oil on canvas, but all works includes medium tricks and illusions supported with food dye, nail polish, oil based mediums, alcohol and self made powdered pigments.
