Sedef Gali, artist, designer and creative consultant born in Istanbul, 14 of March 1990. Graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in New York - Brooklyn, leading art and design university in the USA where she studied Interior Design and Painting. Her international academic background is supported with International Baccalaureate Diploma and Art & Design diploma from Central St. Martins in London. She is a multi-faceted artist based in between Istanbul and New York.

Sedef Gali, after growing up in cities with clashing cultures, researches different socio-cultural eras, cultural contrasts and suppressed emotions. Her work is a celebration for the colorful and chaotic grime in metropolitan cities and how it is reflected upon society. 

The main technique Gali uses is acrylic and oil on canvas, but all works includes iridescent tricks and illusions supported with spray paint, nail polish, oil based mediums, alcohol and self made powdered pigments. 

As an artist with her disco era influenced, impressionist artworks, Sedef Gali had multiple

shows in Istanbul, New York, Miami among other cities, including respected venues such as The Hole

Gallery, Bowery Hotel, Cemberlitas Museum and Manhattan Center in New York City. She has also worked with a number of brands on different projects from curating creative events, designing fashion goods to multiple artistic collaborations with brands including but not limited to Samsung, Beymen, Adidas and Soho House.

Sedef Gali (Istanbul,1990) artist and designer, graduated from Pratt Institute with a  Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in New York -Brooklyn, leading art and design university in the USA. Her international academic background is supported with an International  Baccalaureate Diploma and Art & Design diploma from Central St. Martins / London  School of Arts in London. Sedef Gali developed an international experience while building  her creative career. A multi-disciplinary artist, Gali continues to carry out creative  consultancy and projects with different brand collaborations. 

As an artist with her Pop Art influenced, impressionist artworks, Sedef Gali had multiple  exhibitions in multiple platforms, including respected venues such as The Hole Gallery,  Bowery Hotel and Manhattan Center in New York City, curating concept events and  performances within the exhibitions in order to exhibit her work within a complete  experience. Gali currently runs the artist collective and open studio "ArtHouse by Sedef  Gali" to support up-and-coming artists. She lives and works in Istanbul and New York.

Sedef Gali researches different socio-cultural eras and mainly focuses on portraits. Her  work is a contrasting celebration of the suppressed emotions of human beings and how it  is sugar coated within society through the use of colors and illusions. Main subjects of her  work consist of emotional layers & expressions, gender issues, self love, and the chaotic  grime of metropolitan cities and society. Gali’s major source of inspiration is people’s emotions, oppressions and traumas shaping fears and how they are reflected through  facial expressions & reactions. Her work always transforms through her own emotional  challenges and self analysis, her recent abstract works are a part of her new series “Love  Letters”.
