'Product Placement,' by George Oswalt, Oil on Canvas, Painting 2006
This 80" x 60" large scale oil painting on canvas by artist George Oswalt depicts a portrait of a young red headed woman. Behind the figure a black starry background with floating items like toys, clothes, and other dream-like objects float in space around her. The artist notes the works satirical commentary on consumerism in America. The woman struggles with the constant cycle of societies preoccupation with consumer goods.
