1996 Sala Consilina, Italy

Francesca Adriana D'Anza, class of 1996.

I lived in Sala Consilina until I graduated from Liceo Artistico. Later, in 2015 I moved to Milan to study painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera.
Here I started my artistic training and research fueled by stimuli of various kinds. To the painting training I joined the ceramic studio and the production of objects and tableware of
design.

In 2018, I graduated with honors, and following the birth of my daughter Sophia, I continued my studies and artistic path in the master's program in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. Returning again to my homeland, I opened a painting studio at Spazio D'Art in Sala Consilina.

"My research was born from the desire to remember and relive through my art, the "Oceanic Feeling" experienced in the sea of Cilento in 2016. The perception of my body, of my being, from those moments changed, as did my art. Immersed in the blues, I enriched my palette and transferred those colors to the canvas. My way of working is in symbiosis with lived experiences, I free the material from any scaffolding of technique, I feel the body of color and let it interact with my own.

Experimentation with materials is in my painting. I work with material and expressive opposites, the cohesion between oil and water colors, between the soot of the flame and the drop of water, between wax crayons and watercolors, all "controlled" by a repeated random gesture in which I search for forms.
In more recent works the body, the human being, is present in its absence, so landscapes come to life, "non-places" in which to lose oneself. This new series is distinguished by its colors and forms, distant from previous works inspired by the sea."
