According to the artist, the concept of preserving objects, food, things with the vacuum technique is brilliant. Among the various things in the world that she likes, there are flowers: she finds the diversity of their shapes and colours extremely beautiful. So she decided to take four fresh flowers and four dried flowers and vacuum-pack them. Once she had her vacuum-packed flowers, she noticed that some of them reminded her of the plasma bags found in hospitals, so she hungs them on a string with black clothes pegs and shot them. She purposely chose to use a lighter, 'livelier' background for the dried flowers, and a darker background for the fresh flowers.

1998 Novara, Italy

I am Beatrice Bertone, class of 1998, astrological sign Aries.
I am a photographer and a chemical expert.
I grew up in a small town in the province of Novara. After high school I decided to continue on the 'scientific' path only to realise that everything I wanted to do in life had little to do with chemistry and much more to do with visual art. So I decided to leave the scientific path and enrol at the Mohole School in Milan, where I graduated in photography in 2023.

For me, photography has always been a medium with which I can express my ideas, my emotions and my chromatic and moral vision of the world. But also a way not to forget, one of my greatest fears is, in fact, that of forgetting the beautiful things and thanks to photography I can make the 'momentary' 'permanent'.

I am a fairly shy and introverted person, but I am not afraid to express my ideas out loud. I like pastel colours, the blue hour and the smell of rain. Having said that, I hope my photographs are better at describing me than I am.
