Luca Dall'Olio was born in 1958 in Chiari, Brescia. He attended the Liceo Artistico Vincenzo Foppa in Brescia and graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera before starting his artistic career at a very young age.

The artist’s main medium is painting, but great attention is also paid to the techniques of sculpture and silk-screen printing. Dall'Olio’s imagination is constantly nourished by travel taken as an important opportunity to filter and reinterpret faces, landscapes, cities and distant cultures. Another significant source of inspiration is the work of the German expressionist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and the Austrian Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

Between the ‘80s and ‘90s two monographs dedicated to his work were published: Luca Dall’Olio, un giovane principe nell’impero dei segni and Sedimentazioni Sentimentali; the latter was produced for the exhibition held at Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, in 1992.

In 2002 the artist is called to create an important mosaic of 20 square meters for the railway station of Villa Bonelli in Rome.

Among the many exhibitions of recent years there are: the personal Dell'anima il paesaggio at Palazzo Oddo in Albenga (Savona) and I paesaggi dell’anima at the Spanish Fortress of Porto Santo Stefano (Grosseto), both in 2011, and L’incanto delle corrispondenze at the Morcelli Foundation in Chiari and at the Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia in 2016.

In 2018 the artist lives a long experience in Castanhal, Brazil, at the Escola das Artes São Lucas. The artist, involved in social issues, has here the opportunity to collaborate with Ceapa, Centro de Atendimento a Pessoa com Autismo (Assistance Center for People with Autism).

Luca dall'Olio is invited to participate in the XII Rome Quadriennale, in 1996 and at the 54th Venice Biennale, in 2011.

Among the critics and art historians who wrote and took care of his work are Vittorio Sgarbi, Alberto D'Atanasio, Paolo Levi, Floriano De Santi, Marcello Riccioni, Luciano Caprile, Francesca Bogliolo, Carlo Vanoni, Ugo Ronfani, Ilde Rampino, Giuseppe Bonini, Gigi Montini, Simona Clementoni, Luigi Fusco, Elisa Mandarà and Carmen De Stasio. His works have been exhibited in important modern and contemporary art fairs and in galleries and museums in Italy and abroad.
