Barbara McClatchie Andrews is a Canadian photojournalist and photographer has worked throughout the developing world. Her early work is primarily documentary and focused on cultural themes in the emerging world where she has traveled extensively. Her current work is abstract.

Barbara's photoessays have been widely published in international journals including National Geo-graphic and The World & I. Her photographs have been exhibited in one woman shows in Guatemala, Mexico and Vancouver, Canada where Art Works Gallery handles her photographs. She has also participated in group shows in Canada, The United States (Sarasota, Florida; New York), Guatemala, New Zealand and Mexico.

Her current work, "Dreamscapes", which is on display in the Merida Yucatan, is the culmination of a trip which has lasted several years, one whose focus is reflected in the title of her three preceding exhibitions: "Microcosms, Towards a Lucid Vision," "Microcosms and More" and "Unexpected Landscapes". The Mexican newspaper, Por Esto, said of her images that one can't stop thinking that they are paintings from the masterly hand of [a] sensitive artist (Oct. 1 2006). The Diario de Yucatan commented that her pictures present a world parallel to that of daily reality, one demanding time and attention to be observed, a silent world that manages to say much through effective use of composition, form and color. (June 8, 2006).
Barbara has an undergraduate degree in English and French literature from The University of British Columbia. Her postgraduate studies include English Literature at Canada's Concordia University and Spanish literature, Photography and Illustration at the University of Arizona. She is trilingual.
