Holy Three

Udo Hohenberger does not sketch, but manifests decidedly, over and over again. The viewer's gaze is able to lose itself in the planes of what has already disappeared just as it is able to hold on to what has been powerfully redefined. The movement is created not only by the melodic dynamics of the stroke but also by alternating with the painting. It always sinks the whole form, but is still guessed and recognized through the veils. That which is manifested in the body is denser, more inert, heavier, passes only slowly, its sinking can therefore be traced. The past is still forebodingly there when the present appears. Everything happens at the same time.

The gripping graphic lines draw our gaze across the work, forming conglomerates of forms and providing the balance between manifest and transcendent in the infinite space of color. The tension lies in the dance between these two principles and this dance means dynamic movement, and this is the life that is always flowing... or consciousness in motion, or also: creation.
