The work represents a view of the city of Milan. The observer's eye is immediately captured by a statue of the spire of the Cathedral, which rises majestically above the city that stretches indefinitely at his feet. On the horizon, however, some of the skyscrapers of the modern Milanese skyline stand out, alluding to the continuous evolution and becoming of Milan and its inhabitants. Among all, the Unicredit Tower is clearly defined and recognizable. Thanks to his material style and full of pigment, Bencini paints a sunset sky, which is inflamed with the colors of yellow, orange and red.

The work is part of the prestigious Milano Vola Alto exhibition, inaugurated in 2015 on the occasion of Expo.

Florence, Italy

Florentine by birth and Milanese since ever, he paints since his adolescence, trying to tell through shapes and colours what he cannot express and spread in its entirety of reality and its mistery, without a word too much dependent from cogency. In a society where everything is dominated, filtered and mediated by digital and virtual, thanks to his activity of surgeon and dermatologist, Bencini still loves manual skill and the gesture of directly immerging and impacting with the material, transforming and molding it. In this sense, he loves being defined an artisan, as his friend Pippo Basile does, and exactly like him he considers his works, which derive from the manual transformation of the sunstance, one of the most sincere Human expression and one of the closest to the divine gesture of creation. Pier Luca Bencini has always conceived arts as a gift.
The proceeds of some of his exhibitions, such as “Oltre, il paesaggio ritrovato”, have been entirely devolved to the support of missionary works in Africa.
