Chinese ink on paper
1964 , China
He Jinshi is a Chinese artist born in 1964 who lives and works in Beijing, China. The artist studied traditional Chinese painting techniques early on and devoted himself to exploring modernity in contemporary art in relation to ink with traditional painting tools. In his latest series of inked art, he explores the relationship between the visible and the invisible, the ideogram and the image. One of the creative methods he created is the combination of words with images. The ideogram used as a sign remains hidden in the background and the underlying texture of the work of art, the lines thus formed with the figure introduced again with the image. His works are widely exhibited and collected in China.
