Airy identity

Enzo E. Mari was born in Trieste, Italy, in 1939. He studied at the State Institute of Art in his hometown, where he joined Riccardo Bastianutto, Ugo Carà and Dino Predonzani’s classes. He then became a professor of art and history of art.

During his career he took part of the “Gruppo Quadra” and the “Gruppo &” projects and he also had an important role in the avant-garde movement of the second half of the 20th century in northeastern Italy.

His works have been displayed in many galleries and museums in Europe and he created many works in urban art style.

He was the creator of frottage: a technique where he transposes the three-dimensionality of the subject's body into the canvas. His works are exhibited in the permanent collection of Tivarnella art consulting and 1758 Venice Art Studio.

Enzo E. Mari è nato a Trieste nel 1939. Ha studiato presso l’Istituto Statale d’Arte nella sua città natale, allievo di Riccardo Bastianutto, Ugo Carà e Dino Predonzani ed è stato a sua volta docente di arte e di storia dell’arte.

Nel corso della sua carriera artistica è stato parte del Gruppo Quadra e del Gruppo &: assieme a Sergio Molesi, Mario Bessarione e Adriano Stock è parte integrante dell’avanguardia della seconda metà del ‘900 del nord-est italiano.
Le sue opere sono state esposte presso gallerie e musei in tutta Europa e ha realizzato innumerevoli opere d’arte urbana fruibili dalla cittadinanza nella sua città natale.

Ideatore del frottage, tecnica pittorica attraverso cui traspone su tela la tridimensionalità del corpo e dell’incarnato, Mari è dedito a un continuo rinnovo nell’ambito della sua ricerca artistica.
Le sue opere sono esposte in collezione permanente presso il Tivarnella art consulting (Trieste) e il 1758 Venice Art Studio (Venezia).
