Mountain spring

Cristina Coza-Damian was born in 1987 in Romania. She has a BA and a MA in visual arts from the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca.  Her main medium is sheer painting, and her works are figurative interpretations of reality. In her series Landscape Reset the work’s starting point is the dissemination of a world encapsulated in an iconic image. Postcards images, deeply imprinted in the collective memory, became the subjective reinterpretation of already existent places and stories that can and must be recounted. The high interest for color and brushstrokes are in the end concealed under the horizontal lines drawn on the fresh paint. The subject works from this series are mostly secluded wellness resorts and the extraordinary nature of Europe.
