Ketut Adi Candra (b. 1973)His art is not a mere abstract but mixed media where he fuses acrylic and oil paint with a collage of clothes or other objects he thinks are interesting, making it harmonious with the colors he puts on his canvas. Sticking to his roots, he also adds a touch of carving on his works, as well as elements which come from the island’s traditions.A strong believer, Adi mostly talks about Balinese tradition, as well as his own spiritual journey through his works. His art tells people about preserving the island’s heritage and reaching the spiritual entity at the same time. In a nutshell, it is all about respecting the island through the arts. His works have been exhibited at many venues throughout the archipelago, from Bali, to Yogyakarta and Semarang showcasing a collection of works that depict the rich traditions of Bali.
