Katia Prevosto was born in Liguria, in Sanremo in 1975.
The contemporary artist Katia Prevosto spent her childhood enjoying her godfather Dino Mazzucchelli, a neo-realist painter and poet, a very eccentric person and well-known, in those years, in the art world. Later, spurred on by Mazzucchelli himself, she shared various exhibitions with him Katia attended a pastel painting course with Maestro Mauro Scanferla, an internationally renowned painter and member of the "Pastel Society of America" in New York.
With him, she shares the vision in which colours are invisible bridges that allow you to express your inner world.
Katia has always been passionate about drawing and painting, she began to paint her first abstract canvases inspired by the emotions and sensations transmit.
The passion for painting and love for the sea often merges in her works: often, the intense and rich oil colour mixes with pure sea sand, combining a three-dimensionality that enhances its physicality and visual strength.
Of great importance is the use of gold leaf, a precious element not an end in itself but a source of light and inner research, as it involves both the material and the sensory aspects.
Katia Prevosto has chosen a gene of expressive art that revisits the classicism of oil on canvas to material and abstract physicality obtained thanks to the use of natural elements and collages.
This freedom of expression allows the observer to find their own dimension within the work.
In 2018, in the Foyer room of the Sanremo Casino, she presented her personal exhibition entitled "The Light in the Matter" with which the artist has enjoyed success and credibility.

"Perhaps there will come a time when the inner light will come out of us So that we would no longer need it of another light'
Johann Wolfgang Goethe
