Works by Francisco Larios

Francisco Larios works with painting, open concept drawing and 3D modelling software. In his series of works, postmodern influences are recognized by simplified forms, lines and sacred geometry. Larios' output is not an uncritical quotation or appropriation of the subjects that interest him, but a poetic exploration of the state of our relationships with faith, will and destiny. His titles often refer to memorable situations or groups of people throughout history.

Francisco Larios studied design with a major in art history at La Salle University, Laguna. He has participated in more than 100 group exhibitions in venues such as Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey (MARCO), Monterrey, Mexico (2015); Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Oaxaca, Oaxaca, Mexico (2009); Museé de Arte Modesta, Montpellier, France (2004); and Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo, San José, Costa Rica (2004). He has had a variety of solo exhibitions in places such as Mackey Gallery, Houston, Texas, USA (2005) and B&D Gallery, Milan, Italy (2004). During his career he has been awarded several prizes and recognitions, including first place in the VII Biennial of Cuenca, Ecuador in 2001. It belongs to the collection of museums around the world, including the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, California, USA, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas, USA, Museo de arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey and the Musée d'Art Modesta, Montpellier, France.
