Operativa Arte Contemporanea was founded in 2012 after the experience of Carlo Pratis with a gallery active between Rome and Berlin that was focus on artists of the avantgarde of 70s. The Operativa project is addressed exclusively to the deep research of artistic language of the latest generation, with the intention of bringing together the nascent art scene with institutional realities. In the space at via del Consolato in Rome, Operativa has hosted numerous solo and group exhibitions dedicated to young italian artists. It has also supported and produced, since the beginning, numerous projects in collaboration with public organizations and museums in order to bring young people in institutional contest. Among the significant collaborations we remeber the one with the MAXXI Foundation, the MACRO Museum and the Museo Bilotti in Rome but also with the Sala Santa Rita, multipurpose space inaugurated in 2004 by the Department of Cultural Policy of Roma Capitale. Operativa has collaborated with the Fondazione per l'Arte of Rome with several projects at the IX Municipio - Mandrione. Since 2014 the gallery, together with "L' A Project Space", carries on a stable project in the Botanical Garden of Palermo, creating a permanent collection of contemporary art in the gardens and a project of artist residency in order to realize large environmental art installations in the Botanical Garden. Operativa Arte Contemporanea has always been related to the realization of editorial projects of contemporary art with stable partnerships with publishers and art magazines like NERO Publishing, Yard Press, Arte e Critica and Inside Art. Thanks to these partnwrships it has made, over the years, numerous artists' books, catalogs but also music products such as vinyl discs and others.
