Bugno Art Gallery opened its main space in 1991, right in front of La Fenice Theater in Venice. The gallery is renowned for having kept a good connection between all artistic movements born in the city from the post war period and the more contemporary international art scene. Its spaces have hosted works by: Joseph Beuys, Alighieri Boetti, Piero Dorazio, Ben Vautier, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Nicola De Maria, Mario Schifano, Giuseppe Santomaso, Emilio Vedova, Edmondo Bacci to list some, and actually it works directly in collaboration with the Armando Pizzinato’s and Mario Deluigi’s Archives. Since 2004 the gallery follows also contemporary photography working directly with some Italian and international photographers such as Luca Campigotto, Marco Zanta, Paolo Ventura, Maurizio Galimberti, Bruno Cattani, Pier Paolo Fassetta and Fabio Zonta. Many of these collaborations have created during the time the organization of different and various events frequently connected to important centers of contemporary photography and museums: Marco Zanta, UrbanEurope, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, 2008; Luca Campigotto, My Wild Places, Fortuny Museum, Venice, 2011; Paolo Ventura, The Automaton, Fortuny Museum, Venice, 2012. In 2016 the gallery has expanded with a new exhibition space of 180 square meters right next to the original gallery and in 2017 started a new collaboration with JW Marriott in Venice, where it has opened a new showroom.
