Randy was born in 1968 in Edmonton, Alberta and attended Grant MacEwan College completing a two-year program in Fine Arts. He continued his studies at the University of Alberta where he completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Industrial Design in 1990 and later a Bachelor of Education Degree in 2000.
