1973 , France

Born in 1973, Pierre Beloüin graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 1999. He is a founding member of the Glassbox gallery and creator of the Optical Sound structure.

His work has been shown in numerous institutions in France and abroad, and his works are part of many institutional collections (CNAP, Frac Paca, Mécènes du Sud, Carré des arts, Espace de l'art concret...) and private collections. His second monograph has just been published by Presses du réel.

"What immediately marks his work is the asserted desire to multiply the fields rather than to subtract them and to inscribe his practice within the Optical Sound label (of which he is the creator) in his plastic production.

Whether it is played or quoted, music, its actuality and its history, its codes and its crossings, thus constitutes the base from which everything is elaborated. It is undoubtedly because music goes beyond its only territory, that it carries with it a lifestyle and calls for consciousness and revolt, pleasure and play, that it fascinates.

Pierre Beloüin seems to be announcing his desire to make this rebellious and resistant attitude become definitively part of the field of art. At the helm of a project, one of whose goals could be that of affirming the rapprochement, even the fusion, of artistic disciplines, he implements the means of an attitude in form."

Pierre Beloüin is a member of the ADAGP.
