Ascensus

Gianluca Sità was born in Mammola (Rc) in 1979. He lives and works in Rome. He graduated from the State Artistic Lyceum of Siderno (RC), then he obtained, with full marks, the diploma in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, during the course of Prof. Giuseppe Modica.

His passion for romantic / symbolist painting led him to deepen his research on artists such as Böcklin, Friederich, Von Stuck, Segantini. He has exhibited in numerous group shows in selected Italian galleries. His works are placed in various private and foreign collections. Sità carries out a personal and original discourse, keeping in mind the firm points of a vision which does not stop at the history of art and the museum; this does not mean copying the masters of the past, but rather bringing them back to modernity, without the prejudice to the fascination of the beauty / quality nexus which, according to Sità, cannot be abandoned.
