Ed. 5 + 2 pa

1970 Siracusa, Italy

DB was born in Syracuse on November 7, 1970. He enrolled at the local State Institute of Art in the "metals and goldsmithing" section. He graduated and moved to Turin to attend the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts.

Turin is rich in the artistic aspect. There are the "poveristi" such as the Merz family, Gilberto Zorio, Giulio Paolini, Giovanni Anselmo, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Alighiero Boetti, Giuseppe Penone and then Gastini, Mainolfi, Salvo and Nicola De Maria, an important exponent of the Transavanguardia, as well as the young "Pittori Mediali".

Graduating in 1995 with honors, Davide began to travel continuously, between Italy and the United States, where between 1998 and 1999 he won two scholarships at the prestigious Franklin Fournace Foundation (still since 1969, the year of its founding, he is the only Italian artist among the hundreds selected to have won a scholarship) and participated in a group exhibition at MOMA in NY.

In 2000, after a brief stay in London, he decided to return to Italy and move permanently to Syracuse.

Today Davide is internationally recognized for exhibiting and working in almost every part of the world, from China to South Korea, from the United States to Spain. The object of admiration are his large-format photos depicting metropolitan cities around the world, made with a highly original photographic technique (entirely personal), the result of multiple exposures comprising 4 to 9 shots taken non-digitally.

He tries to reconcile in his work the three things he loves most: art, photography and travel.
