1988 Andhra Pradesh, India
Born in 1988 in Andhra Pradesh, Jagamohan Penuganti (Cyrus) studied Sculpture at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam followed by a Masters from the College of Art, New Delhi.
Cyrus’s works are largely inspired by the architecture and aesthetics of ancient remains, especially those of temples in coastal India. Historically, temples were centres of learning and teaching. The sense of harmony and mystery with the complex physical and technical specifications intrigued Cyrus. His art practice aims at expressing the stimulating equations of nature taking visual and philosophical inspirations from the great temples of ancient India. He works in stone, most often in marble and granite.
The artist currently lives and works in Uttar Pradesh.
