Why the Blue Dog?
My dog comes from Spain and was 14 month old when I got him, it’s a cross of a Spanish Galgo and a Weimaraner and he was called Azur, because of the blue glow on his coat.
That has subconsciously prompted me to this Ultramarine color.
My dog was already neutered, hence the red balls and and my dog runs twice a day in the beautiful green forest on the Veluwe (NL), hence his green tail.

1954 Apeldoorn, Netherlands

Arie Otten is a self-taught professional artist, born in Apeldoorn (1954).

His work consists mainly of abstract paintings in the most diverse disciplines, as he enjoys experimentation and he is very free in his artistic expressions and in the materials used.

He works with both acrylic paint and oil paint, mainly on canvases and panels. He often begins his paintings with a blank idea and little by little something emerges and he works on it until the end result is satisfactory.

The theme of faces comes up often in his work, because people intrigue him, he is a person of people, but also abstract landscapes for example or other abstract impressions.
