This is because I love nature. I appreciate what it makes me feel. When I lay my eyes on curvy hills and grainy surfaces, I frame the layers of hues, the petreous reliefs.
My intention portraying these moments is not to showcase a specific place, but to capture what they make me feel: nostalgia, yearning, a sense of wonder. The wilderness makes me feel interpellated, questioning all of my certainties and showing me others anew. It’s a nook into my own soul.
This selection of photographs captures moments in different landscapes from Chile; my birthplace, in which I find a never ending source of inspiration and awe.
Chile from north to south. A land as long as it is diverse, and in between, the Cordillera de los Andes and the pacific coast, a slim setoff that gathers ancient riverbeds currently dry, mountain ranges with an indifferent semblance, forests both dead and alive, the desert and the austral mist.
