Marilina Marchica was born in Agrigento in 1984. She graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and did her Erasmus at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.

In Marilina Marchica's works, landscape and nature lead the objective vision of reality to the limit of abstraction through a procedure a levare, aimed at removing what is superfluous, in search of the meaning that emerges from the surrounding environment and common experience.
The "Landscapes" and "Signs" series consist of poetic and rarefied images in which stasis and memory merge.

Her works are in many private collections in the United States and in the collection of the Fabbriche Chiaramontane Foundation in Agrigento.
Some of her works have been published in the volume "New Collectors Book" edited by Basak Malone and published in New York.
After living in Rome, she currently lives and works in Agrigento.
