Ma Han was born in 1968 in Hunan, China. He currently lives and works in Beijing. In 1994, he got a degree at Oil Painting Department of Fine Arts National Academy of Hangzhou. His main issue in his work is the infinite multitude. The plasticy substance forming the mass in his sculptures is a group of small invertebrate beings, the human anthill continually stirring under the Great Helmsman. The theme of the frogman is strong as well, acting as a vessel for allusions and meanings.
