M. M. Calvo is a multidisciplinary artist in the midst of abstraction and objective visual references, filtered by a subtle use of color.
Calvo was born in 1953 into a farming family. He drew from childhood, above all surrealistic themes, on the most diverse supports.
Calvo moved to Madrid in the seventies and stayed a couple of years before relocating to Barcelona, which brought about a breakup with the academic tendencies. The influence of the circles and the environment lead him to abstraction.
In 1979 Calvo exhibited for the first time in Barcelona. Since then his work has been exhibited in several cities in Spain. In the 80s he stick himself to abstraction more precisely. Subsequently he mounted a school-workshop, devoted himself to artistic teaching.
