"Lena Hilton makes paintings in series, asking herself each time the question of how to paint. [...] By multiple passages, she creates a possible gap in a saturated history, and too often brutally monumental, of abstract forms. Without leaving any trace, but with constancy and concentration, she infuses her canvases with colors, reappropriating motifs and reexperiencing what painting can have of voluptuous and sensitive.

But the softness is only appearance. Her bias is strong. His gestures have the troubled lightness of mastery.

None of them is hazardous, to be able to be forgotten at this point. All that remains are their soft passages, whose emotional and poetic density no reproduction technique could render. [...] " Samuel Gross
