The Berlin-based collage artist ISMENE (*1973 in Bochum, GER) studied Philosophy and is a trained hand weaver before she came to art. From both disciplines, she draws themes and forms of expression for her manually made collages. Her handling of the medium appears quite unique, the elements being put together so delicately and almost sketchy that it seems they could fall apart at the slightest touch. This testifies to ISMENE's deep understanding of the medium, enriched by her knowledge of the hand weaving techniques. ISMENE exhibits her work at art galleries in Berlin, i.e. KWADRAT, Charis Schwarz, Franzkowiak.
