Igniazio Schifano was born in Palermo (Italy), in 1976. His artistic training is linked to the Art of Restoration, as he has a twenty-year experience in this field and he is a qualified restorer of frescoes and wall paintings. During his academic path, he spent some time in London where he specialized in painting and restoration tecnique and where he began his collaboration with the renowned Titian Studio.
He participated in several exhibitions including Artisti di Sicilia, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi. Some of his works are part of the MacS collection (Museum of Sicilian Contemporary Art) in Catania, and others can be found at Fumone Castle and at Palace of the Province of Cosenza, whereas his work entitled "The image of the unimaginable" is part of the collection of the Rende Museum in Cosenza.
Today, he lives in Palermo and collaborates with several galleries in Italy, including the Lombardi gallery and Pio Monti Contemporary Art in Rome. Art critics and art historians, such as Claudio Strinati, Andrea Romoli Barberini and Alba Romano Pace, are profundly interested in his work.
Selected Exhibitions
In July 2017, he participated in the artist's residence in Ustica organized by the Riso Museum which ended with the exhibition at the crowned chapel of the Polo Museale Riso in Palermo, in December 2017.
