Renowned Israeli artist Igael Tumarkin immigrated to Israel as a child.  He traveled extensively and lived in the USA for several years before returning to Tel Aviv.  He is internationally recognized for his public sculptures, paintings, and prints.  His work combines aspects of Abstract Expressionism, Dada, and Pop art and he has produced over 300 prints.  Tumarkin represented Israel at the Venice, São Paulo, and Tokyo biennials. The Tel Aviv Museum of Art staged a major retrospective in 1992.  Among Tumarkin's best known works are the Holocaust memorial in Rabin Square, Tel Aviv and his sculptures commemorating fallen soldiers in the Negev.
