From the darkened background of Francesca Candito's canvases, which traps and emphasises the representations, partly cancelling them out.

Expression faces emerge in which the colour spreads circumscribed or stops in front of a physiognomic trait, a more precise character trait. The face of the "doll" coexists alongside that of the "lady" or an undefined face of an Ibsenian woman in search of identity, violated and never possessed, in a triptych, a triple and incomplete attempt to be oneself. Francesca's works can be read both as a lyrical fragment in its own right and as a segment of a complete discourse, of a denser plot that is realised in the whole story, picture after picture, image after image, in a manner that is broken up and at the same time exhaustive and synthetic. Thus the grafts of sized figures and letters around the dark, that dark cloth of a theatrical backdrop that justifies and presupposes a world concealed behind the masks of everyday life, represent a further piece of research, particles of reality taken from our universe and inserted - a collage that is never decorative or celebratory in that it is substantially pure - in this other painted and parallel dimension.

Francesca Candito was born in Rome in 1975. She graduated from the Liceo Artistico and later took a degree in Urban and Environmental Planning at the Faculty of Architecture in Milan and graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. He lives art with absolute care and dedication, day after day his research proceeds between his two studios in Milan and Verona.

Some of her most recent personal and collective exhibitions include: "Open Spirit", a personal exhibition curated by Luigi Marsiglia at the Biblioteca San Giovanni in Pesaro (2018), "Negli occhi degli sconosciuti", a personal exhibition at the Museo Valtellinese di Storia e Arte in Sondrio (2018), and "The pictorial research of Francesca Candito", a personal exhibition at Galleri Tornby in Bindslev, Denmark (2018). In 2017 she also exhibited at Palazzo Reale in Milan as a finalist of the Premio Arte Mondadori and, again in 2017, she exhibited in Monza at the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea MIMUMO with a solo exhibition. In recent years she has been the winner (in 2017) of the Basilio Cascella Prize and has been recognised by Saatchi Art as one of the 40 best artists in the Italian section by Rebecca Wilson - Chief Curator and Vice President of Art Advisory at Saatchi Art.
Several publications have been written about Candito's research work, we mention some recent ones: in 2017, in the magazine "Arte" published by Mondadori, the work "I beg you to let me go" was published and described in the article "I Finalisti del Premio Arte Mondadori" and Massimiliano Castelli, in 2017, wrote in "L'Avvenire": "Le donne in fuga della Candito".
Finally, also in the same year, the bimonthly magazine "I QUADERNI di Nuova Scena Antica" devotes ample space to an in-depth examination of Candito's research work.

His works can be found in several private and public collections in Italy and abroad.
