(b. 1982, İzmir) lives and works in İzmir and Bodrum. She completed her undergraduate education at Bilgi University, Department of Media and Communication Systems in 2005. During her university education, she chose to take art classes in addition to her majors. In 2005, from her last year at the university, she began to study at the workshops of different artists, including Cavit Atmaca. Equal is also interested in textile design and cooperates in this direction. She has been working in her workshops in İzmir and Bodrum since 2008.
Ceylan Equal focuses on the figures who prioritize their intuition in the contrast of reality and dream in her paintings. She is influenced by poetic texts and stories. She considers mythology as the oldest and timeless, unchanging stories of human longings and dreams. As he grew up on the land that hosts Siren Island, Ephesus Celsus Library and Halicarnassus Mausoleum, these immortal earth stories inspire his paintings. She likens people who have gone through different tests in life to Odysseus. She thinks that every woman feeds on Artemis' abundant energy source. While examining the mixed and integrated, mixed and archaic structure of these lands in nature, the mythological and shamanic power symbols, the stories that make up Anatolian and world history, he creates a painting language within a poetic and mixed aesthetic structure. Patterns in and around figures; It connects with each other through symbols that are figurative, sometimes surreal and refer to the past.
