"Over several decades, my work has evolved into a personal style which I hope will convey some of the emotion that I feel for the subjects that I paint. " A native of southern Alberta, Brent Laycock has focused his career on the interpretation of the Alberta landscape in a rather distinctive lyrical style. Since receiving an MFA in painting from Brigham Young University, he has lived and worked in Calgary. His work has been exhibited in Canada, USA, Mexico, Japan and Europe and is represented in many public, private and corporate collections including the royal collections of Britain and Denmark. Two of his paintings were featured on Canadian postage stamps. Large-scale works include several corporate murals, an outdoor historical mural in High River and a recently completed roof design for the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Calgary. His work has been published in various books and magazines including Readers Digest, International Artist and Magazine Art.
