Franco Scepi was born in Lucera, Italy, in 1941. He's an Italian artist, graphic designer and film director. He studied art in Brera and he realized performances and video-performances all around Europe and in the USA. He worked with Andy Warhol, Mario Schifano, Achille Bonito Oliva and others. Scepi had been searching for the meeting points between advertising and art and his idea was to merce in one single body all art techniques. In 1999, Mikhail Gorbachev and the Nobel Peace Laureates added their signatures to Scepi’s image Man for Peace, created in 1977 for the poster of the film Man of Marble by Andrzej Wajda, inspired by Karol Wojtyła and defined as the symbol that foresaw the fall of the Berlin Wall. He collaborated with Campari and spots were planned all over the world. The '89-'90 campaign highlighted a continuity in the Campari artistic strategy which prepared the terrain for the event "From Depero to Scepi", exposed in Milan with the participation of some great advertising and fashion exponents, as Ottavio Missoni. "Franco Scepi's eclecticism cannot be classified. A real total artist, who besides being painter and sculptor is also scenographer, director, writer. In the 80's he was even regarded as an underground artist, as Fortunato Depero continuer in the second post war period, because, like the Futurist artist, he sought for absolute freedom and independence from any system, leaving behind common artistic practices boundaries. " (Pierre Restany)

In 1994 Scepi created the performance "Dalla TV alla città - dal movimento al segno", for the launch of the "Campari Soda sì 94". This meeting point between Art and Media was chosen by the critic Gabriele Perretta for "Medialismo" exhibition at Trevi Flash Art Museum, with the participation of Kostaby, Cattelan, Beecroft, Montesano, Premiata Ditta, Hoklahoma and Tecnotest. 1995 The "Scepi C'Art", an electric car inspired by a model presents in one of Scepi's ads, was presented at Miarte. 1996 Miarte hosted the Convention "Over Ad'Art di Scepi", Milan 1999 Franco Scepi and Achille Bonito Oliva presented a conversation at Miarte about art and advertising, Milan 2000 The monument "l'Uomo della Pace" became part of the Museo Bargellini, Bologna

1986
"Tipps Ice Awards", New York, awarded to the Campari Sodas' spot Spots as "Campari it's fantasy" and "Bitter Campari" were planned all over the world

1991
