  • About the Artist

Angelo Brescianini was born in 1948, in Pallazzolo Oglio near Brescia, where he still lives and works. He debuted in 1968 at the Biennale of Padova, with some works related to an informal research that will continue for some time before leaving for good. Since '70s he made his first sculptures. These are works made with wood and the artist adds mechanisms to mobilize the compositional structures of the work. In the decade between the mid-eighties and nineties, he continues in the production of works whose movement is driven by the physical intervention of the spectator, who becomes active part of the work. A further development of his work takes place from 1994-95, when the devices that give the movement the work will no longer be operated by the observer, but by a mechanical automatic. Brescianini from 2001 starts to experiment a new playing techniques that will lead to the creation of the series Expansions, it consists of paintings made by shooting the surface of the frame. Since 2003 he devoted himself exclusively to perfect this particular expressive technique with wall paintings, sculptures and design objects. One of his works is already part of the collection of MAON Rende.
