Ana Malta's work focuses, above all, on the use of colour and expression. She works with everyday themes in an expressive combination of brushstroke and line. Her work is often socially critical, and she uses symbols, images, phrases and words, which appear among the exaltation of the work, as a mean of critic. She brings together various elements in vertiginous compositions that tell a story that is usually, not only familiar, but also contemporary.

Most of his paintings are marked by a great mixture of colour, expression and impulse, especially on large format canvases. Her work is energetic and free, creating patterns built on symbols present in the collective memory, which dignifies them. He presents us with a new world of saturated shapes, which, although hallucinatory, are above all joyful and lively.

Ana Malta (Lisbon, 1996), visual artist, lives and works in Lisbon.

She studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and has a master's degree in Creative Industries Management from UCP-Porto. She worked for three years as an assistant in the production, communication and promotion department of the Carpintarias de São Lázaro Cultural Centre, the Belo-Galsterer Gallery, Miradouro de Baixo and the Lisboa à Prova Gastronomic Competition.

Her work is developed through the study of colour, patterns, composition and scratching materials, vehicles of her plastic and visual unconscious. It's a work where restlessness seeks aesthetics and where dialogue is based on transforming "error" into opportunity.
