Carloni has been exhibiting her work regularly since 2009 and In 2013 she was awarded the prestigious Basilio Cascella prize for painting. Carloni creates dreamlike, fantastical scenes. Futurist urban landscapes and surreal forest dwellings are Carloni's preferred settings while time in the form of clocks or sundials is an ever present spectator. Solitary figures - solid and almost cylindrical in form - convey a longing for escape from the chaos of contemporary society as they contemplate their visionary surroundings.
